Submissions

A comic short box with x-men 1 being pulled out of it

Do you offer cracking open of CGC/CBCS/PGX slabs?

Yes. It is $5 per comic.

Do you offer a “Fast Pass” to speed up the submission?

  • Yes. For an extra fee of “$X.XX” per comic the pressing time will decrease. Please note current turnaround times are shown at the top of the home screen.
  • Fast Pass time begins on the next business day after the package tracking shows delivered.
  • Please write “FAST PASS” on the package in large letters.
  • All comics must be either fast pass, or not. Comics under the regular submission tier must be on a separate order form. You can however ship more than one order in the same box.

What size comics and magazines can I send? Does CGC have size restrictions?

  • There are size restrictions, but almost all comics and magazines fit under them.
  • Comic books no larger than 10-½” x 7-⅝” x ½”
  • Magazines no larger than 11-½” x 8-⅞” x ½”

Do you offer shipping insurance?

TBD

How will my comics be shipped back to me or to the grading companies?

Your comics will be shipped back to you in the same manner and in the same packaging they were shipped to me, when possible. I will never reuse damaged boxes or materials. Please be wary of the materials so that the comics are secure but not impossible to access. They will be re-wrapped and sent back to you or to the grading company of your choice. BCW stor-folios are the easiest for both of us, and do a great job protecting the comics in shipping.

Ultra-glossy covers

Foil covers

Holograms

Card stock covers

Ultra “slick” covers

When does turnaround time begin?

Turnaround time begins on the next business day after the package tracking shows delivered.

Do you fix major spine rolls?

Will you remove restoration?

Sorry, no restoration removal.

Will you remove stains?

Only stains that can be removed with dry-cleaning.

Will you remove foxing?

Sorry, no foxing removal.

Do you use chemicals and other bleaching techniques that can be considered restoration?

No! All too often CGC is sending back comics as restored which get the Purple Label of Doom! This significantly devalues the comic and is not reversible.

How much do grading companies charge, and what are their turn around times (TATs)?

CGC prices and TATs times are found here

CBCS prices and TATs times are  found here

I see comics online with CGC custom labels? Can I request that?

Yes, please write down which label you would like in your submission. Be aware that CGC processes custom labels separately from comics without custom labels. So if you have 10 comics to submit, and 5 are custom labels and 5 are not, CGC will charge you shipping on each set of 5.

Are you a CGC Dealer?

Yes, we are an authorized CGC Dealer.

Will I be updated of the status while they are being graded?

No, we don’t give status updates for CGC. They will ship to you when your comics are graded. Signature is required.

When my comics are graded, where do they ship?

Your comics ship back to you. Make sure the return address is correct when you send submit your comics for pressing.

How many boxes will CGC use to ship my slabs back to me?

Each tier of grading is shipped separately. They ship when they are complete, not all at the same time. 25 is also the maximum they will ship before sending the rest in a new box

By submitting to CGC through you, do I get the CGC dealer discount?

Yes! 25% off! It will be reflected in the total price on your invoice that CGC sends after submission. Submission fee applies for paperwork.

By submitting to CBCS through you, do I get the CBCS dealer discount?

No. Sorry, at this time we are not a CBCS authorized dealer. There is no discount from their listed fees.

If I am using your CGC account and pay you for pressing, why do I need to fill out a credit card form?

When you pay for pressing via checkout on this website, you have only paid for pressing. That information is processed through a 3rd party and your information is not saved. You will still need to pay CGC for grading services. We use your credit card so that you can pay for your own CGC services.

Can I send comics that are not being pressed?

If you are using our CGC account, submission fee for unpressed comics are $4 each.

How much do you charge to do the CGC paperwork?

  • $15 for the first 10 comics, $1 each additional comic
  • Please note that at 25% off CGC fees saves you money regardless.
  • For example, for comics post 1975, CGC fee is $25. At 25% off this is $18.75 + $1 processing fee = $19.75. With a #4 fee for an unpressed comic, it is $18.75 + $4 for $22.75. This still saves you $2.25 per comic*.
  • *Fees do not include CGC processing fee or their return shipping fee.
